Carbon Accountable
Transparency. Accountability. Change.
The Time is Now
The clock is ticking in the global race to address climate change and can’t afford a hit and miss approach to our collective efforts. To avoid this we need to know the “who, what, where, when and how much” of the carbon pollution problem and then do something about it. We believe that carbon data transparency is essential for effective policy making, smart innovation and focused advocacy. We need to to build a movement for carbon data transparency and accountability that radically accelerates the private and public sector decarbonization needed to ensure a 1.5 degree future for the 39 million Californians, 330 million Americans and 7.5 billion people that share this planet together.
Let’s Do This
Corporate GHG Emissions Reporting
The Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act (SB 253) passed out of the California legislature on September 11, 2023 and Governor Gavin Newsom has committed to sign the bill before the October 14, 2023 deadline. SB 253 will require public and private US companies with revenues in excess of $1 billion dollars that do business in California to publicly disclose their full scope GHG emissions. This game-changing bill will catalyze corporate decarbonization and give consumers, policymakers and investors the information they need to drive climate action impacts.
